From idea to end product, & everything in between.

Skills

I build systems that scale — tokens, components, documentation, that engineering teams actually adopt and that AI tooling supports.

Approach

Immerse in the problem space before reaching for solutions. Talk to users, audit existing state, understand the constraints — enough to know what actually needs solving.

Lore

My route into tech was not a straight line. I was working a bilingual support and translator role in Tokyo and quietly learning web design on weekends to fulfill my need for a creative outlet. Eventually my side skillset won. A couple of friends and I started a small studio, and one of my first real branding commissions ended up as a physical shop sign in Ginza.

While branding and web design were the first drivers of my excitement for design, I quickly found myself interested in complex products and problem solving that led me to UX and software. From there: tech start-ups, UI/UX and front-end roles, a cross-country move to Melbourne in 2020, and a CS degree finished part-time in 2025 while maintaining full-time work. Formal study and self-taught background, it turns out, combine really well. And I continue to push further with both.

Outside work

When I'm not at a screen, I'm usually out enjoying nature walks and sunshine. I recently decided to pick up some bird and wildlife photography, so that I can capture the beauty of the Australian fauna. I find that it lets me be creative and technical in a different and low pressure way: slower, quieter, and just for myself.
